What do we mean by relevant traffic? Consider the following two scenarios:

Scenario 1 (less relevant traffic)

Your plumbing website is running a Facebook awareness campaign for $2000/month that brings 500 visitors to your website each month. Of the 500 visitors, 450 leave without visiting a 2nd page (they just don’t need a plumber at the moment). Of the 50 that visited more pages on your website, 20 of them eventually reached the “contact us” page, 5 of those either called your business or filled out your form, and 2 of those visitors turned into actual paying customers. Unfortunately, this scenario is often uncommon. Let’s now compare this with the next scenario.

Scenario 2 (more relevant traffic)

You saved your Facebook dollars and invested in SEO. After a few months, you are ranking 3nd for the term “plumber vancouver” and its related terms, which gets around 2000 searches per month. The average click rate for the 3rd organic result is 15% on average, so of the 2000 searches, 300 visitors reach your website. Of those 300 visitors, 200 of them need a plumber now (why else would they search for a plumber on Google). Of those 200 visitors, 100 reached your “contact us” page, 50 of them either called your business or filled the form, and 25 of those turned into a customer.

What is our data-driven approach to SEO?

We analyze over 500 factors that go into the Google search algorithm – comparing the results from the top ranking webpages to those of the lower ranking webpages, which allows us to see the key differences between the two groups. For example, we may notice that the webpages on the first page of search results for “massage therapy vancouver” have, on average, 1800 words & 15 relevant websites linking to them. Next, looking at the results on the 2nd & 3rd page of Google, we see that they have an average of 1200 words & 32 relevant websites linking to them. From this (simplified) example, we know that Google places more weight on the amount of content on a page than it does on the number of links pointing to a page for this keyword. While this is an overly-simplified example, when we add 500 more ranking factors to this equation (through the beauty of data science) it allows us to pinpoint what changes to are needed to a website to efficiently & effectively rank it, removing a lot of the “guesswork” & “uncertainty” that often plagues SEO.

Organic Listings

The organic search result listings get between 44-51% of all Google clicks. Understanding the keywords that will drive the most profit to your business and determining what it will take to rank for them is the best form of local marketing there is.

Local Map Rankings

Reviews, proximity, and on-page signals drive ranking here.
